The Red Cross aims to ensure that children no longer go hungry at school. Since March 2023, parents have been able to receive grocery cards at schools. This program is called School Meals. We want as many students as possible to be in class with a full stomach in 2024, so that they can follow the lessons full of energy. Will you help? This has various reasons, such as not receiving information about the program, misunderstanding the objectives of the program, feelings of shame, language barriers, or concerns about the privacy of their data. In order to increase the number of registrations, we want to support schools more actively with information for parents this school year. The Emergency Response Team responds to accidents and calamities and supports ambulance personnel and other medical professionals. In carrying out their tasks, the emergency response team works in an organized context and is managed by a team leader. We are looking for a Head of Emergency Response Team for the Flevoland district. As Head of Emergency Response Team (deputy) you are part of one of the Red Cross emergency response teams. The Red Cross is very strong in providing assistance and you will see our volunteers standing by as first aiders at numerous small and large events. However, there is a lot of organization behind Event Assistance! That is why the Assistance Office exists. All incoming questions from organizations for the use of volunteers end up here. This not only concerns events, but also other task areas such as giving guest lectures at schools, the telephone circle, food aid, training, etc. All these requests are submitted internally so that Red Cross volunteers can respond. The deployment of all those Red Crossers must of course be well coordinated. The Emergency Services Agency takes care of this and the team in Flevoland now consists of 6 people. To support and expand the team, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague in the position of Administrative Assistant Emergency Services Agency The estimate is that you will spend an average of approximately 8 hours per week on it (flexible throughout the months, with an emphasis on June, July and September). What are you going to do • You manage the incoming email box and ensure that emails are forwarded to the volunteer involved (depending on the task area); • You are responsible for the administrative processing and maintenance of the events in Excel; • You process the injury lists provided (which injuries were treated during an event); • You provide support in preparing quotations for new requests for the deployment of volunteers; • You participate in weekly team meetings (via Teams). The Red Cross aims to ensure that children no longer go hungry at school. Since March 2023, parents have been able to receive grocery cards at schools. This program is called School Meals. We want as many students as possible to be in class with a full stomach in 2024, so that they can follow the lessons full of energy. Will you help? Unfortunately, we notice that our help does not reach all parents/guardians. This has various reasons, such as not receiving information about the program, misunderstanding the objectives of the program, feelings of shame, language barriers, or concerns about the privacy of their data. In the coming period, we will focus extra on reaching as many parents/guardians as possible. And you can help us to let as many students as possible go to school with a full stomach and lots of energy. What can you do as an educator? In order to increase the number of registrations, we want to support schools more actively with information for parents this school year. An information officer can provide support in consultation with a school, including: • Providing information at a school about the School Meals Program, for both parents/guardians and teachers/mentors, during parent evenings, coffee mornings or open days. • Organizing information at locations such as community centers about the School Meals Program, where parents/guardians of your school can learn more about the program and ask questions. • Offering walk-in consultation hours where parents/guardians can ask questions and receive support in registering for the program. • Providing communication materials such as flyers, business cards and informative letters for the school, in physical or digital form.
