Head of Population Care
The Red Cross is the emergency aid organization of the Netherlands. The Red Cross operates as an emergency aid organization that complements the government and has a permanent place in the organization of disaster control and crisis management. The Population Care team acts in the event of calamities as support for municipalities and safety regions in their population care tasks. The Red Cross is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to contribute to improving the circumstances of affected citizens. For example, think of the guidance and care of residents who have to leave their homes in a hurry. For the Flevoland district we are looking for a Head of Population Care 6-8 hours per week What will you do? • Together with the Emergency Response Coordinator, you are responsible for maintaining a trained and motivated Population Care team within the district; • you identify the training needs of the emergency services team, initiate exercises and ensure the preparation, execution and evaluation of the exercises; • you contribute to the annual planning for Population Care in the district; • you ensure periodic work meetings with team leaders; • you work at district level and conduct structural consultations with officials in the district - think of contact with support staff about training and exercises or daily operational coordination with the Emergency Services coordinator; • you maintain contacts with the departments/locations about training or material storage • you ensure optimal support for the Population Care team with regard to quality, readiness, deployment and replacement of emergency services; • you identify bottlenecks in task execution after a deployment and/or exercises and contribute to solutions; • you will monitor, in collaboration with the Emergency Response Coordinator, whether there is a need for aftercare for volunteers after a deployment and arrange this if necessary; • you will support the Red Cross team leaders and volunteers during a deployment in an action centre by organising transport, accommodation and replacement; • you will support the Emergency Response Coordinator with evaluations. What do you bring with you? • minimum HBO work and thinking level • You have completed the following modules (online) of the Red Cross or are prepared to complete them soon: - Welcome to the Red Cross - Fundamentals of the Red Cross - Mental First Aid • you have a valid Red Cross certificate 'Extensive First Aid' or equivalent • you have a valid Red Cross certificate 'Basic Population Care Course' • you are aware of all modules that are part of the Population Care learning route, including team leaders • you have demonstrable management experience. As Head of Population Care, you must have a Driving License A or B (E after B and/or C is a plus) and a car. You can be reached by mobile phone (also outside office hours for possible support in the event of a crisis). You are prepared to act outside your own place of residence.
